Just picked up a Zafira Gsi today which unfortunatly has had a few bits done to it i intend to put it back to standard the airbox has been removed and has some c*** cone filter, it did have a dump valve fitted for about 2 days and they removed it and blocked it, (good old broom handles) it looks like they've also tee'd the boost guage in on the end of the turbo, Am i correct in thinking that is the wrong place to tee the boost guage into? could this cause the slight poor idle it is? also if you block the standard dump valve (which im not sure they have) should you remove the spring or leave it in? It chatters back through the filter when changing gear which makes me think they've blocked the standard dump valve is this right?

The boost gauge should feed from the fuel pressure regulator...where you would also use a after market dump valve.

In principle it should either be....a after market dump valve working alongside the factory recirculation valve...or block/not use the factory recirculation valve and run a after market one....the first is the most popular method...so if both valves have been blocked of then that's not good....I've never heard of blocking both?....as for the cone filter just buy a cdti setup from TX Autosport.

Check that there are no Loose vacuum hoses behind the cone filter...in the top left hand corner.

You never meet the numpty that owned this before me, but i've been thinking about all the things he said when i went to look at it and i think he's fitted an aftermarket one and than realised it didnt sound very good because he never blocked the standard one so took off the aftermarket one and blanked it off.

I do wonder sometimes how these people manage to breath on there own there so stupid.

They don't make that much of a noise tbh...I've got a DV26 fitted to mine and it's quite loud but not like a Subaru for example.
