c20let - refitted turbo now it wont run properly

i simply removed my turbo and refitted it...

i did catch a wire on the lambda and its bascily broke off so i unplugged it as i have done this before and it runs fine just with eml on!

but this time there is no eml but major hunting and nothing on the wideband wtf!

i disconnected the batt and re started.. ran fine for 5mins then ****ed about again

guessing its just the lambda as the wire is clean off now lol

Yeah, rather than trying to re-wire it, I'd buy a new one - bosch one as well.

yes its lambda im sure it starts to work after 5 mins thats probably why your getting symptoms after a few mins of runnning

its had Another lambda sensor, and was left a few days. now it refuses to start it coughs an splutters but won't run! i have checked all the connections and they seem good, one wire on afm was split but i tapped it up..

all i did was fit a new wastegate Jesus!

Double check for air leaks on your boost pipes

Or put the engine back in a Calibra... :-p

Sounds like the AFM wiring damage may be more than a mere 'split wire' - I assume you mean insulation?

yeah im going to double check all the wiring, just had a thought

if the broken lambda wire touched something or the afm wire i found would it burn out the remaining wires?

checked afm wiring seems fine still all wrapped up, there is a loud clicking coming from the engine when i turn the ignition on...

check all your earth's / lives.

How much charge you got in battery? maybe there's not enough juice to crank it over?

yeah its a decent battery and it seems like its turning over pretty quickly...

tomorrow i will check rest of the loom and ecu live feed etc... if i remember rightly there was some smoke but i thought it was wd40 on the manifold, might of been some wires?? it ran fine until i got about 1mile down the road lol since then its not started..

i have checked every wire and sensor, they all have good voltage.

i think i have worked out its not sparking? changed the coil no joy

Ecu possibly could have shorted it
Is there an earth for the ecu by the intake manifold,is this where it was smoking from

all the earths seem in place, i think some smoke was off the manifold but i haven't found any burnt wires plus there's voltage at the plugs.

Check if your gettin volts-signals to the coil pack if you have no spark = If no. Then check relating pins on the ECU for output to rule out wiring. Also i know the fuel relay can cause all sorts of problems on these, all that stuff ok?

check your getting a signal from your crank sensor mate i had this after i fitted a clutch on mine. well random but it was that

what you mean? there was no eml when it ran an ****ed about though.

Crank sensor is close to the turbo,if its not the crank sensor I would be looking at the ecu

put standard chips back in as my other ones messed around before... still no joy! getting fuel but it will not fire!!

im not buying new sensors for the sake of it... unless people have one i can borrow??

use a multi meter on the wires/plug going to the coil pack etc, see if its been sent a signal/juice. if not check the relating pins from the ECU, ignition earths, and ignition +12 supplys.

If ECU has no output, check its -12 and +12's supplys.

Either if there wasnt a EML id give the ECU a scan see if theres any faults logged, and itl check its functionality

yeah i have done that, its getting the correct voltage but something has gone wrong between the coil and the plug lol

its getting stupid now, it worked fine until i took the manifold off
