Need help on c20xe corsa conversion

Hi everyone. Short story is I have a corsa B 1.4 sport and looking seriously into putting a c20xe into it. Got a few questions and would just like this thread to keep asking questions.

Not going to learn by paying someone to put it in either. So I have a few mechanically minded mates who have corsa b's to help!

Roughly how long do you reckon it would take providing all parts have been purchased that are needed?

Would £600 be a good price for an ENGINE, F20 GEARBOX, SHAFTS, ECU?

Would i be able to decat it and actually pass its mot in june?

Thats all i can think of right now, more questions to come most likely.. lol

If you have absolutely everything you could do it over a weekend.

But I would say give at least a week or two to sort out minor issues as you haven't done it before.

And yeah minor issues are always expected. Could I keep anything at all from my 1.4 sport? Like I have a sports cat. Could I use that or do I have to get a new system? I dont mind expense as I have saved up my money to get everything i will pretty much need. Just If i can recycle I may aswell!

all depends how mechanicly good you are, it can be done and running in a day if you have afew mates and batter on with it but give it a few days to sort out any problems

and as for your exhaust, you can keep your existing exhaust but you will need to match up the manifold to your existing system

just a case measuring twice and cutting once

For someone that hasn't tried much before. And the most ive done is change my brake servo when that went bang. Its not going to be exactly a "piece of ****" :/

you cant really go wrong mate if you follow the link paul has put up, was the one i used when i had the xe in mine. One thing I made the mistake of was buying everything seperate, you always end up with some bit missing. IMO id try look for someone selling a full conversion kit, that way at least you know you have everything! One thing noone ever really mentions is to make sure you have the right ecu and loom for the engine. The first time I xe'd a corsa I had the wrong loom/ecu for the engine, caused all sorts of grief! If you have a couple mates helping you'll do it in no time, good luck!

noooooo Just get an astra! As in a gte (if that's correct, think they came standard?) and get it into show condition

Quick question, has anyone driven 1.4 sport and a xe and a let? Power differences. I can just imagine a let not being able to put power to the floor.. I might be wrong. If so, tell me! lol

Without lsd it spins allot !

With lsd it is way better, only wheelspin in 1st and 2nd.
