c14nz cutting out

Garage says the cam sensor inside the dizzy is cutting the car out does anyone know where to get one or have one ?

I have a coil pack type as I stripped the 16nz engine in mine and have all the parts, I take it it wasn't the pump?

Sorry mate not sure of the part number i think its a hall effect sensor, and the pump has made it run better will have a better description when i pick it up today

Ok mate, I have the entire coil pack which i know was working perfectly, just need to check the numbers to make sure it fits, but I'm sure they are the same

Yeh, Vectra640 he needs the hall effect sensor thats part of the dizzy.

Nothing to do with the coil.

No local scrap yards near you?

You just need to swapy the dizzy over. You dont say where you live, so cannot offer any more help.

No mines the coil pack type Paul, not a mechanical dizzy, that's what I meant, I have the whole unit for the 16nz not the 14nz which is what he wants, don't know if they are the same though, but in saying that his 14nz shares the same ECU as the 16nz so his must be a coil pack

Yeah need to swap over the whole dizzy as you cant get the sensor seperate, stay in Greenock Scotland mate not a scrappy around here has one

More problems went to try start the car tonight and no go!!!!!!! Decided to check the voltage to the fuel pump and gave a reading of 7 - 8 volts, left if for five mins and checked again and got a reading of 2.5 - 3.5 volts, checked the battery voltage and it is reading 12 volts then my torch died so cant check anything else. Any ideas?

Did you sort this problem out? As my Astra stalls and refuses to start sometimes

Got it sorted mate i just ran another wire from the earth cable and attached it to the body under the back seats and not had a problem since hope this helps
