Need help on Corsa GSI project, any mechanics out there wanna make some x-mas cash?

Before I got my evo 7 I had a corsa GSI as a bit of a project car/runabout. I was only 18 and a 1.6 was all I could insure at the time. it was quite nippy, but of course being 18 I wanted more power.....to cut a long story short I spent thousands on getting as much power out of the little C16XE engine as possible.

quick engine spec.
Piper fast road cams
Delphy injectors
uprated inlet
4-2-1 exhaust manifold + decat
pipercross induction
power boost valve
magnecor HT leads

after a few years it finally got to the point that it had to come off the road as all the uprated bits I was bolting on it meant I had to get an Emerald k3 ecu to get it to run properly.

my mate whos a mechanic got half way through the job of wiring it all up and then got himself and new house and has been to busy to finsh the job ever since... that was about 2 years ago now and I just wanna get the car back on the road and get some use out of it as Im using a run down primera as my every day runner.

are there any mechanics out the that can come to worcester and finish the job off for me? Ive asked a few places round here but most of them need the car to be taken to them and wanna charge silly money.

jobs that need doing are...

ecu wiring finishing off.
bonnet pins fitted as it now has a fibreglass bonnet.
ABS removing if possible? (if too much work can be left on, the cars gonna be used on track so I would like it taken off if possible)

may be a couple of other little jobs but just need the car checking over and running again.

if any one out there wants to make a bit of cash let me know.

2. Traveling to you takes more time
3. All my tools etc are at my unit
4. If i'm spending 100% of a few days on your car, I cannot help as I have MOTs etc to do

Define 'silly money'?
Costs me £200 ish a week before I even earn anything for myself.

yeh I know where ya coming from paul, it doesnt have to be worked on here I can get it trailored if needed. where are you based?

I know what ya mean about ya tools, im in the motor trade myself (morgan motors) and it is 100 times easier when your using ya own stuff.

Well I had a local garage pop round to have a look and they wanted about £1500 which was rediculous ...to be honest I think they took a look at the evo on the drive and started rubbing there hands together thinking Id just throw money at them, what they didnt realise is I saved up for that car for 6 years since I was 17 so im not exactly made of money

Im happy to pay the right people to get my car back on the road, just didnt trust the garage that gave me the quote.

also if you need any vehicle upholstery done (door cards, headlinings ect then Im sure we could come to some sort of deal.

if your intrested mate let me know as you would be doing me a huge favour.

is the ecu mapped for the engine or does it require mapping?
how much of the wiring got done for the ecu i.e. is it just a few sensors to finish off or do you require the whole engine loom making?
just to give me a better idea of whats involved

heres a pic of the wiring, I think most of its done just needs finishing off.
it has got some labels on. I can also get hold of the emerald wiring diagram that came with it and a haynes manual for the car.

The ECU is brand new so its blank but I think there are standard maps you can put on it just to get it fired up again
(I will rolling road it and get it set up properly before driving it)



Engine bay, you can see the power boost valve on right hand side needs a pipe to finish it off, also the abs unit removed (Id like the whole abs system removed idealy but if not it can be put back on easily)


Battery in the boot ready to go. There is some wiring for the sub but im not bothered about that at the moment.


Everythings in place just need someone with the knowledge to come finsih it all off

i think before anyone helps it should be on the promise you will take the lexus lights, side skirts and rear bumper off

on a serious note seems a shame as tbh theres not masses of work to be done to get it up and running

haha its already done mate, I was young and reading to many fast car mags at the time, now has standard back lights, and Irmscher airdam rear bumper as it sits a bit lower than the standard one.

Like you say theres not loads of work, just need someone who knows what there doing and wanna make a few quid

That battery wants putting in a nice battery box for starters.

That would be great if you could paul, the battery is in a holder but hidden by the carpet, it takes me about 20mins to wedge the thing out so it definately isnt going anywhere
