Me and my friend are going to be turbocharging a c20ne, what would the best engine management system be to run about 200 wbhp? I'm quite clue'd up with the Saab management so could I even use that? Thanks for any ideas/options!

Tbh not really worth trying to get the Saab T5 to work with it, better off getting a cheap mega squirt, well worth looking on www.vaux-extreme.com as that's the home of the 8 valve turbo

Lovely! Thanks for your help mate. : )

You can use a riseing rate fuel pressure regulator or even a 5th injector it depends what sort of budget your on?
As cheap as possible but we want it to run without fear of fault so if it means spending a couple of hundred on mega squirt I'd rather do that. But I'm Willing to try the cheaper methods first if you have any more info on those? Cheers

Standard mngment can make 200bhp, adjustable fpr set to 3 bar, ecotec red injectors (2.0 ecotec) lower compression and this should take 12psi, with megasquirt you can wind her up to 20psi easy. Also to retard ignition set the octane chip to 91ron instead of 95ron some people do this but i'd do this at the r/r. You can also adjust fueling on the afm next to the plug there is a flathead fuel adjustment (might need to stab the anti tamper plastic through) but again i'd do this at the r/r. I've built 1 mate but havn't got to the rollers yet. Using a t3 with a homebrew manifold.

Just read again wbhp, maybe struggle on standard ecu i thought you meant at the fly, although there has been a few make 220bhp at the fly on standard ecu

Ok mate thats brill info, 200 wbhp was just a target. I won't be upset if it's about 180 @12 psi. Are low comp pistons plentiful or will a spacer plate do? Did you use an aftermarket sandwich plate for the oil feed? Cheers for the help mate!

Wouldn't it be easier to use a Saab turbo engine? For a few hundred quid

Locate your afm before the turbo also, low comp pistons are a better route if you've got the cash though mate

I've tried registering to vaux-extreme but they disabled it because of spammers! Screamer69 is on here he's the man who made the site he's called jay they've got the quickest 8vt in the country it rivals specky! But you might struggle to get hold of jay

Thanks again mate, your help is really appreciated . There was a full thread on there with about 5 pages full of info so to be honest it doesnt look like I'll be stuck for too long! Don't suppose I could set the fpr up using a garage's emissions machine? Also mate I don't suppose you happen to know a lad named Grant Martin from Scarborough do you? Brothers called Rob and Stu? Old Army friend I'm trying to get in touch with.

Name rings a bell mate but i dont know him, well i guess you could use 4 gas analiser or wideband lambda (a/f ratio gauge) is good but doesn't come too cheap. Like i said you're best off taking it for a trip to the rollers to get set up properly but 3bar is about right. I'm using a FSE fuel pump, sytec filter and FSE adjustable reg. Its about quantity of fuel aswell as pressure, my fuel pump is 135ltr/hr thats plenty
=C20NE=TURBO=
you can get 220 tops on standard engine and management jay aka screamer69 had tried and tested it 21psi blew it up c20ne is the better 8v as low compression just make sure you can monitor fuel and air and you will easy achieve 200bhp
I bought the engine 2 months ago but not yet had the time to even think about doing anything with it! I'll probably start looking to do something with it come summer time but thanks for the info chaps. To get a fuel/air reading I'll need a wide band lambda is that right?

Yes, you can use a wideband to set fueling up. You can get an AEM one or an Innovate one, both available on line.

hello
i have convert my c20ne on turbo with stock ecu and works ok
if u like to run low boost like 0.6bar boost u can make about 170 or 180hp without problem u need to use ecotec red injecotrs which are about 250cc
and use fuel pressure reg set on 4bar and will run ok
if u like more boost u need c20let injectors but u will have problem to start engine when is cold
use afr gauge to be sure
bye
here is my project

Hi, thankyou for your info! Glad you brought this back up actually as I forgot about this idea! Im starting a Saab BMW build soon so the c20ne turbo will be the follow up project. Just need a nice shell to drop it in!
