    Unhappy C20let problems HELP PLEASE

I have a c20let newly fitted into an astra mk3 2 days ago but i have a few problems. The engine is supposedly rebuilt 12000 miles ago and has had a hybrid turbo installed.

The first problem is that when hot the engine smokes. It isn't that bad at idle but when you give it some revs, more blue smoke comes out and when driving the smoke is quite bad. Is the turbo gone? I have removed the intercooler pipes today and there is no oil in the boost pipes. I have just serviced the engine with castrol edge 5w40 fully synthetic. Is the oil abit too thin?

The second problem is that the engine gets abit too hot. I have a slimline fan installed but it seems quite useless as it doesn't move nearly half as much air as the original fan used to with my old engine. Do I need a bigger fan or would I benefit with a cooler thermostat?

    Any help will be great

your slimline fan should move twice as much air. have you wired it in the right direction i.e. suck instead of blow. does it have an oil cooler fitted as this makes a big difference. did it smoke before the oil change
Racing is life, anything before or after is just waiting
