    vxr turbo

    Anyone tried a vxr turbo on a 20let ?
    Besides making it fit.
Surely 1.8bar with the vxr should make good power ?

    I know that.
Saying if one makes it fit, would it be worth it.

I dont see the point in going to all that hassle to convert to another restrictive cast manifold

    Re: vxr turbo

I was just wondering if someone has gone through the trouble of trying.
From what I've read the kkk16 can boost 1.2 without hassles while the vxr can boost 1.8 without hassle.
Can someone confirm the vxr boost spec ?

thats not possible 1.8 bar, 1.5is max and even then some people are blowing them up after a couple of 100 miles. ive got my vxr unit running 20psi overboost with 18 holding i make 307bhp and 370torque, a normal spec mapped car with exhaust intercooler, uprated injectors etc will make about 290bhp and 350ish torque. 2even a hybrid vxr unit with uprated internals can only handle about 24psi. but well over a grand whats the point?

ok, so you running 1.4 max boost then.
In that case it isn't worth it.

You're missing the point.... after a certain power level the manifold and elbow itself becomes a restriction, and the turbo isn't notably bigger than the KKK to make more power either.

All that hassle and you might as well fit a turbo and manifold that was designed for 300bhp in the first place.
