My maye has done a conversion into his corsa b but the rocker cover gets red hot after 5 mins on tickover, it is very temperamental starting, sometimes it's first turn, other times it's got nothing there, any ideas lads? Cheers andyÂ*

how hot are we talking? my c20xe gets hot too.. i can put my palm on my rocker cover it for like 3 seconds max before flinching...i think the tempermental starting could be a seperate problem to the fact that its just hot

It's very rare for any engine to get hot on tickover chaps, especially so hot that you can't touch the rocker cover after 5 mins. Starting problem could be an immobiliser, could be your using the wrong key? is the battery connected? Does it have a starter motor? Good luck with the trouble shooting lads

Theres nothing there at all mate. We have replaced the dizzy, plugs and leads and it's still been dodgy! Once it is away it's fine then the rocker cover is too hot to touch After a few mins. Far too hot for it to be normal I think??

Sounds like possible timing issue? Have you checked the markers are all correct, If its taking ages to fire I would take a look at the timing first.
    Vectra B Estate 2.2
    Vectra B Saloon 2.6
Renault Kangoo C20XE On bike carbs (yes you read that correct, no its not finished yet)

Check timing was out by a tooth, sorted now, still won't fire up got a good spark, fuel to fuel rail yet not firing up. Plugs look dry still after turnin over n over? Could there be another issue ie fuel relay or blocked injectors? Is there a relay or fuse for anything involved with the startin sequence? Help pleeeeeeaaassssseeeee
