When I have the engine apart to fit the new bottom end next month, what are your thoughts on:
new cam and followers?
They do rattle for 10s on start up sometimes. Can I just dunk the tappets in solvent overnight? Or is it worth getting recon ones?
I assume that if I fit a new camshaft I should replace the followers at the same time?
What about revving the 8v to 7500rpm. Am I going to encounter valve bounce problems?
Looks like some research is needed.
