i have a nova merit mk1 (1200cc - boo!)
i have put gte clocks in and wired up the rev counter, but how would i get the oil pressure guage to work or is it not possible?
Also the oil light on the clocks isn't working(and its not the bulb) any ideas?
You need to get an oil pressure sender. It has 2 terminals on the back of it. One goes to the back of the dash behind the oil pressure gauge (you have to run a new wire), and the other goes to the wire that was connected to the switch originally.
I got my sender of a E reg Cavalier SRi130 at the breakers. Cost me £2. From a motor factors I was quoted about £28 (trade).
It is at the cambelt side of the engine at the bank, quite low down. You will probably need about 19mm spanner to get it off. Some oil will leak out aswell.
You'll need to change the oil pressure sender to the two pipe variety, it'll make the oil light work, and the guage. Usually found in SR's/SRi's and GTE/GSi's. You have the one pin type, which should make the oil light work only...
not sure why yours doesn't work though ? Sure it's not the bulb ??? Or maybe the sender is bust ? Did it work before you swapped the clocks ?
