I'm having some hi torq cams fitted tomorrow which I got from Regals, they're Kent Cams. Regals are'nt fitting them.

Is there any way in finding out if these cams have been reprofiled by Kent Cams and they are not just standard cams. Can you tell by serial numbers or any thing else.

Cheers

They should have a number stamped on the non-sprocket end.. if it's a Kent profile it will be KC somehting or other. Or if its a Regal profile there will be some other identifying number. One way to see if they have been reprofiled is to measure (using a vernier caliper) the base circle diameter and compare this with the BCD of the stock cams, also measure from the tip of the lobe to the base circle, do this on a stock cam too. If either of these two differ then they wont be stock cams, if the BCD is smaller by more than 1mm then they are cheapo re-profiled cams, if the BCD is the same but the lobe higher then thay are on new blanks.
