Following on from an earlier thread, for the second time now my car has not started due to the coil spark not travelling along the HT lead, but earthing to the coil mounting screw. You can literally see the spark appearing from where the lead meets the coil, and earthing at the nearest screw.
The first time I whipped the lead off and saw that it had a green powder on it, I pressumed it had got wet. I gave the coil a clean, and put on my old lead and everything seemed fine for the whole day.
I came to start it this morning and it would not start. Again I could see the spark when starting it up, so I took the lead off, dryed it and the coil, and it's okay agian, untill the next time.
How can I stop this happening again. Vaseline round the end of the lead?
