Nova Valver mounts...help
Ok i have been using the car for a few weeks now witha few small problems... The main one at the moment is that the gearbox mount has seemed to have dropped loads.
The bottom is rubbing on the tie bar now where i cut the lug off and it looks lower on that side of the car in the engine bay.
Any probable causes of this? Or is there any way or raising it slightly....like 1 cm or so.... so its does not hit and is all in sync again.....help...
Sounds to me like the rubber mount is f**ked mate!
Get some competition TAS ones on there. Will vibrate the car a bit more, but will stop the engine 'torquing' over so much in the bay.
Rubber mount was brand new when i fitted the engine.. I did not put the spacer in between the engine mount at the rear and the gearbox... do you think it could have put this much strain on it to **** it this quick... I will check it at weekend..Otherwise put another new one in and see what happens.
how did you twist the engine so much to make the rear mount alighn up then?
Sounds like you need to sort that out then. Should be spaced over, and it'll fit fine and dandy.
Maybe having the engine in at such a position (without the modded rear mount) has buggered the box rubber mount..
We put the front one in and the gearbox one in and then the rear one in with out having to move anything... it fitted perfectly.... so now what... put the spacer in anyway?
Where can i get the spacer for the rear mount or the dimensions so i can make it up myself?
Valvers dont have the dimensions....cheerss...
With what washers? dont sound to good....
Who has the dimensions of the bar i canuse to fit nicely.?
just get some 10mm flat bar and drill/blow 2 holes in it....
