    20xe airflow meter prob

Was trying out a different induction kit for my corsa today and the pipe that goes
between the airfilter and the AFM wasnt secure and dust and the usual debris
got into the AFM. Car started to jerk and cut out so put on a spare AFM on and car
is now fine. Question is can i do anything to clean the dirty AFM or is it fit for the bin?

if the filament has broken then its game over. otherwise its supposed to be self cleaning, it heats up the wire like a bulb just as you first crank the engine over.

Mabey something got in a damaged it or something as the car was jerking and holding back then was fine then the same again. Everything was back to normal with spare AFM.
Had a look inside the faulty AFM and there was a fair bit of dust and bits on dirty in it so there might be damage to the filament.
Would carb cleaner be a good idea on it if its clogged up with dust and bits of dirt?
