vectra loom won't fit too well without major rerouting work.

for a first timer it's a very complicated engine to transplant.

    Re: x20xev into corsa gsi

XEV has an F18 as standard, I'm using an F20 on mine though, I've not driven it yet as the conversion has been full of problems, done loads of conversions and the XEV has been the most complicated.

the dual tract inlet manifold on the vectra engine doesn't fit properly and fouls the matrix, the inlet from an astra x18xe fits but has no place to mount the dual tract control solenoids which are now redundant, the engine loom routes the other direction and the ecu is under the scuttle on the vectra, also you can't just swap the looms as there are different management on the engines.

if you do use the vectra loom and get it to fit you will need the chip from the vectra key and the reciever from around the ignition barrel as a set for the immobiliser to switch off.

i will have the full car so no problems with the chip etc, what can i do with the shafts? put my outers on or do i need conversion shafts? the loom i will extend and run it behind the glovebox thats not a problem also what mounts will i need? trying to get everything sorted before the car arrives in a few days .

ordinary 2.0 conversion mounts and shafts, there's options of the 1.6 shafts but they're rockinghorse ****.

Surely the easiest thing to do would be to get an X20XEV loom from a MK3 Astra, it's Simtec 56.6 (rather than 56.1 from a 1.8 16v MK3) thus compatible, and it routes the correct way.

andiirc the inolet from a 1.8 astra is smaller than the 2ltr ones so would help with clearance

    Re: x20xev into corsa gsi

mine goes well enough but has unfoftunately just done the head gasket, no big deal really as its used as a daily driver doing about 45 miles a day ,the only thing i have to do to mine is eventually change the gearbox to an f20 as its geared all wrong and revs too hard for my liking . as for the comparrison between the xev and a redtop i cant help with that one as i wanted to be a bit differant hence the xev which i am well impressed with ,other than the gasket failure the only time i play under the bonnet is when i polish it .i am in the process of building another either a tigra or corsa as its not going to be much longer before more people are doing the same as most redtops have had the life thrashed out of them .also consider this mine has done 100k and is still on the standard bottom end
