My belt recently went slack at 0mph, i.e. pulling away, I bent all 16 valves and most of the guides as well on my XE. Official rebuild cost was £1250, a large part of which was the sodium filled valves.
if it aint under warranty just hav sum balls n put a cambelt on and close ur eyes n turn the key, just done the same thing on a 98 volvo s40 2.0 16v and got away with it and the bloke said he was doin bout 30-35. if its fecked n e way u aint goin 2 lose miuch coz u got to strip it n e way
