Has anyone removed the throttle body from a C16XE engine?
I have followed the instuctions in the haynes manual and so far i have, drained the radiator, removed the expansion tank, removed a load of hoses and pipes, unbolted the inlet manifold, and removed the air trunking from the bottom of the throttle body.
The problem is that I can't get to the last two bolts fixing the throttle body on to the inlet manifold, there is too much in the way. The haynes manual says to do it from underneath the car, but you can't even see it because the gearbox is in the way!
Can someone please help me! because i stuck with my motor on axle stands at the mo
I need to remove the throttle body so i can get to the throttle position sensor, and the idle control valve.
Yeh its a right biatch!
I just used a 8mm socket/ ring spanner, but not one of the ones that are just hex shaped, they have a multisplined ends on them, you can get them from halfords for a couple of quid.
Anyone got any ideas on how to get this bloody thing off? its doin my head in!
I've just been down to my local Vaux dealer and bought the gaskets i need, which cost £30 so there is even more incentive to get it off now!
