Just wondering is there another car out there that uses a bigger turbo than a cally/cav turbo (T2+) that will bolt straight on to the vaux manifold, tried a Porsche 996 KKK turbo, but it wouldn't go on, (maybe a bit excessive for the vaux though).
Cheers for any ideas
Rumor has it that you can use the compressor wheel itself off certain K26 turbo“s - provided you locate one with the narrow shaft.(there are 2 types) That“s what my turbo guy told me.
The wheel itself is available as a spare part and isn“t even very expensive (I was told approx.£60) but it is essential that the turbo is assembled properly and balanced AND you need to make sure that there“s enough clearance for the K26 wheel.
My gut tells me that some companies do this and charge huge amounts of cash for it......
In theory it should be possible to do a hybrid for close-to-nothing but I haven“t got the guts to try.
And to be honest, the car pulls quite well already so I“m not feeling adventurous.
