Need help on c20xe

Hi guys I need help on a c20xe, I have a ticking noise, I replaced pistons, main bearings and connecting rod bearings, cleaned oil pump pick up pipe and checked relase valve, replaced oil, new water pump, new timing belt, 3 times replaced lifters( one set INA and 2 sets aftermarket) cleaned all oil paths and the ticking sound is still there, I notice it will tick when engine warms up and oil pressure starts from 75psi then is dropping to 23psi.

hi mate when you say you have replaced pistons and bearings was that to cure this problem of has it happened since ?

I replaced them to solve this problem but still is ticking.

just wondering as i rebuilt a xe last year and it was doing the same as yours when it was cold it ticked then would go quiet for about 20 mins then its would knock its tits off again oil pressure would drop very low it turned out to be a big end shell oil path was blocked its on my posts on here

Today I removed engine from car, will continue dismantling the engine tomorrow. hope to see the problem.

my mates does this aswell just have the head fully rebuild all brand new parts but ticking when cold

Hi guys, I began dismantling the engine today, I decided to do the engine by myself. I removed the big end bearings, cylinder head and these are some pic of the big end bearings.

Since I have the head apart I was thinking to check the valves and the valve guides, how do i check/ replace the valve guides?

I decieded to give it a try and try to fix but still I am looking for an LET, by any chance the oil inlet from bottom end to head is from that small hole in the middle of the bottom end,

yes that is a one way valve in the block that lets the oil into the head but stops it draining back when the engine is not running..

HI I managed to clean and check the oil way from bottom end to head, I machined some plastic stoppers so that I can close the main bearings outlets, I machined an adapter from my Nozzle Blow Gun to the oil pump inlet to block and filled the oil way with oil.
Pics will be added tomorrow.

I am waiting for the gm head bolts, and big end bolts to arrive from GM. Any idea of a good/ reliable torque wrench

HI I recieved the gm main bolts, the big end bolts, bought oversize big end bearings and main bearings, gaskets . I thibk I have a problem the head bolts are different than the original longer and there is no washer

I replaced the head bolts to the original one,

I need a valve spring compressor to remove the valves I think both of these are the same

I bought a valve spring compressor it Laser its great, I removed all valves now so that I can clean every thing.

A little update, cleaned the head, removed cam shaft bearing since I had some of them damaged ( could not tighten them) made an insert in one of the silencer manifold.
