My 2.0 8v cav is idling high and running lumpy, i took out the instrument panel only to find that some clever person has removed the bulb for the engine managment system indicator light to hide the fact that there was something wrong with teh car before i bought it. It stays on while the engine is running and i read the codes it gave me 21 - throttle position sensor voltage high, brown/green & brown/blue are both 5v and the middle one (earth) is 0.02v. I've read that when the throttle is closed one of the voltage on the brown/green wire should be 0.5v with the throttle closed and 4.5v with it fully open. I checked and cleaned up the connections on the earth on the chassis (on the negative battery terminal) and the 2 on the back of the head. That made no difference, Any ideas about what i can do to check anything else/sort it out, or what problems this fault would cause?
