Well you see there is the problem. Some people on here think you get what you deserve. People who are un-insured and have accidents, whether their fault or not, just load everyone elses' insurance. The insurance companies are in the business to make money and if your mate is not contributing then the money has to come from else where. And YOU let him drive YOUR car KNOWING he was not insured. If he had an accident those of us who are insured, and don't let others drive our cars unless they are insured, have to subsidise people like him and you. Why do you think it is a legal requirement? Why do you think you should "get off" light?
I personaly think they should crush anyone driving with no insurances car or sell it if it is worth selling. They should then see how much the insurance would have been for a year, and fine you five times the amount, just like if you get caught with no road tax.

YOUR cav, YOUR OFFENCE TOO. You were just as guilty for the Nova, just you never got caught. Perhaps you should have, 12 points in one day and 2 big fines. Thank your lucky stars you didn't and stop your infernal whinging.
Ok i can see every one has a different point of view but i put this post up to have some guidence from possible people who have done this before which will be a few of you who keep quiet. I am sory for what did but i suppose i did not really think about it.
I am also sorry that people are turning this on me in to a debate. I only wanted advise from people who were not biased and could help out if the know of people who have been there done it kind of thing. I realised what i did was a mistake and everyone makes mistakes.
