What are the chances of a vectra vxr engine fitting my zaf a

hi my zaf is engine less an i have been offered a vectra vxr engine i was wanting to put an astra vxr engine in using gsi z20let wiring an ecu due to the canbus on the astra ctra vxr do the veccy vxrs have canbus an if so what wiring could be used instead if at all the mounts look the same so if anybody has any views or knowledge of such a conversion please apply within thanks in advance

No chance of fitting it in there fella AFAIK the veccy is a much bigger bay and the vectra struggles with heat soak etc.. BUT as there was only 1001 veccy vxrs ever built I'd imagine you are going to be the trail blazer fitting the engine etc. Even if 10% are written off how many engines will there be kicking about??

Oh yeah the veccy is a full canbus car so poss use stand alone management to get round this?

You may be able to fit it, but getting the CAN ECU to cooperate will be a bigger challenge.

was hoping it wouldn be canbus but im not into messing around with that then there are 2 engines on ebay now which are alot cheaper compared to z20let engines just thought it would be different

The Zafira a 2001 onwards is canbus anyway, so no problems there that I can see!

mine isnt canbus system it only started on the zafira B model iirc

the vectra vxr engine is not a vauxhall its a saab engine

I know of one guy in Reading that was fitting one into a MK5 astra iirc, he'd got to the stage of physically getting it in there and it mounting up but the rest of it i've no idea how he got on.
