Problem With My Astra 2litre SRI (PLEASE HELP)

My astra has been running really well for along time now, but as i was using it the otherday, it started fine and everything, so i pulled away and it was also fine, then say about 5mins into my journey, i started to get abit of bogging down, and then engine light decided to come on.

I then pulled over, toke the keys out of the ignition so ecu reset itself, then tried starting the car back up again. It didnt want to start again. Had to get it towed home.

When i got in i check and changed some things:

• Fuel Relays Clicking
• Checked Fuel Pump & its priming
• Fuel Filter Got changed
• Fuel in fuel rail
• Got spark and compression
• All sensors have been checked and working fine
• Fault codes checked and it says KNOCK1, KNOCK2, KNOCK3, KNOCK4, which is oviously due to fuel starvasion.

• Injectors Not Pulsing

Could the airflow meter be the problem as i no it doesnt come up on the fault codes reading??

Car doesnt attemp to start, unless you spray carb cleaner/ easy start down the inlet manifold then it attemps to start.


ANY IDEAS PLEASE, AS IVE BEEN WORKING ON THE CAR FOR COUPLE DAYS NOW WITH NO LUCK.

I would try the coolant temperature sensor.

What are your reasons for saying it might be the coolant temperature sensor?? Have you had this problem yourself then??

Have you done a compression test? I'm a bit puzzled as to why it started to bog down and then stop never to start again, it didn't stop suddenly or jerk for a few miles it just bogged and stopped, have you taken the cambelt cover off to see if everything is still ligned up correctly?

Have a go at checking for a live at the injectors, and make sure there earthed, the best way would be to put a 12 volt light bulb in the plug and turn the key.

This could be the crank sensor. That can mess with the injector pulse. But you wouldn't have a spark. mmmmmmmmmm

Very first thing I check on any engine that 'stopped' that has a belt, is if it's actualy turning the cam'. If it is, compression check is next in case it's slipped.

Then start on the rest.
BTW, while you've the plugs out for the comp' test, have a good look at them - they can give valuable clues.

i have the same problem with a c25xe in a calibra

no injectors are fireing

i even disconnected one off the injectors and got a mate to crank it over

mean while i live wire 1 injector and opened and closed it manually

it was firing on 1 cylinder

it was as if the crank signal to the injectors was not working does any one know this part off the loom?

its not my ecu tryed it in another car and it fired right up

gonna replace the crank sensor (even tho the spark plugs are firing ) see what happens

I think it's mor that likely to be the fuel pump relay but do as you wish

sounds like it was in limp mode and then ECU cut engine
get a gunston's vaux fault reader
