I know all about the raspy exhaust's on the xe's and just put up with it on mine.
I have an SBD manifold, de-cat pipe and a scorpion grp A exhaust.
It rasps around the 3,000 rpm mark.
So to my point, I've had the CAT back on (for MOT purposes only ) for the past few days. During the past few days i've not had a single rasp from the zorst. Any gen?
I love the lack of rasp, but I really need the exhaust roar back.
Any ideas to have best of both worlds.
Would exhasut wrap around the de-cat pipe help? Perhaps muffle the rasp?
I noticed that with a CAT rasp is minimal, usually only when cold.
Not sure it can be totally eradicated but when I had a straight though pipe instead of a CAT and scorpion cav turbo exhaust it was about as un-noticeable as it gets.
Mine isnt as bad as it was - centre silencer missing from mine.
Once its warm, its not as bad though
My normal set up is de-cat pipe, silencer then the back box.
Dave what is yours? You got a straight through pipe??
Tim do you get rasp on your GSi? Have you still got the CAT on it?
Nope, its a de-cat pipe from online autosport. I wanted a straight through one but couldnt find any and wanted one I could replace easily, unlike the powerflow ones.
Im so glad that I didnt get the pipe taken out, because its so loud on the motorway with that centre silencer missing.
But I think I have some aged baffles too.
