c20xe knocking/tapping?????

i have a problem with my c20xe

the engine starts a heavy tapping when you keep the car at a constant speed ie 60mph
the noise is only there when the engine has a certain strain on it. the noise isint there when applying the throttle or when you let the throttle off any ideas??

no loss of power / performance either if this helps

To be honest that dosent sound good. The majority of engines that have gone pete tong with me make noice when you let off the throttle and then dissapear when you go back on the power..........until its a constant noice.......then bang.

only a guess but sounds like a oil blockage/pressure issue? what does anyone else think, ie. not enough oil being pumped until engine is being revved hard?

Unless its like piston slap when he's letting off???

not when hes letting off though is it, he said when at constant speed so say half-throttle? firstly i would suggest removing the pump and pick up pipe, thoroughly cleaning them, then refit with fresh oil and filter and see if the problem still occurs.

cheers got it checked out the day and looks like my small end bearings away!!!!
so looks like it gona have to be another bottom end on the cards!!!!!!
just have to keep in running like that the now till i get sum cash
