Found this in my sump - concerned - help please!

I am in the process of changing my sump on a 3.0 V6 but it has a 2.5 sump fitted and this was in the bottom of it with a bit of gunky oil.







All I can tell you is:

Its made of Aluminum
there is no thread on it
looks to have a small hole punch effect in the center of it.

Any ideas would be very helpful! I am guessing its from the sump as its ally but it can not be good surely?

the only possible thing I can think off, is it could be from where the oil feed for the charger has been put in. However that would have been drilled and tapped through surely? Unless the hole was already there (but smaller for something else on the sump in OE format??) and they have drilled, pushed through and made the hole larger?
