On Monday I left my car with the Opel dealer to help sort out the intermittent power loss problem. The engine would seem to cut out temporary and then before the engine actually dies off, it would come alive again. Tried checking the connectors and the various wires attached to the sensors but to no avail.
So I decided to better leave it to them to sort it out for me. Well 2 days later I called them to only find out that my car was not even idling at all. The accelerator has to be used constantly to keep the revs high enough and when they took it out for a drive, it was a complete pig to drive. In addition to that they said that the Tech 1 was not able to read the ECU !!!
Just got a call from them and was told that the idling and stuttering problem has been solved. How? They don't know. They just cleaned the connectors of the various sensors (inc. the AFM).
But the Tech 1 still is not able to read the ECU and they still have not isolated the original 'engine cutting out' problem.
Have any of you had this problem before :-
a) intermittent power loss problem
b) Tech 1 not able to read the ECU (the Tech 1 could be initialised but no data can be input into the ECU)
c) ABS - sensors ok. Relays in the ABS module ok. but ABS light still on. Accumulator problem?
Thanks in advance.
