vectra b overheating
hope someone can help me
Im going to put my veccy in for a service but recently i noticed the temp gauge creep up past the 90 mark, only dropped when i put air con on full
i checked the oil level which is fine, i opened up the oil refill cap and no deposits, but the coolant had whitish deposits, could this be oil contaminating the coolant?
ive also noticed a reduction in power ouput, ive got a suspision that the cat or 02 sensor could be blocked.
any advice would be appreciated, it'd be good to put the car into a garage with a little bit of knowledge about where the problems may lie
Ive also just had all brake pads replaced so im hoping this wont cost a bomb!
A mate suggested that ecotecs are notorious for leaking cylnder heads, hope not!
Cheers

Re: vectra b overheating
it could be because of the 02 censor, my guess is that the thermostat probe thingy might not be in place, could of been knocked out of place, i've had this problem vefore, repositioned the probe and had no more problems.
