i'm about to change my 1.6 cav for a 2.0 but i'm a bit confused of the various engine/suspension configurations. the haynes manual implies that only the cars with 16v engines have fully independant rear suspension. is this true?
what is the difference between the SRi and the GSi? is it just the head? (i'm not particulaly interested in trim specs, just engine, suspension and brakes really).
what is the difference between the CDx and the CDi?
what is the difference between the GLS and the GSi?
i've read the haynes manual (not much help) and been to the parker used car site (not much better). if any one can let me know the fundamental differences (or point me to a site that lists them) i would very much appreciate it.
i keep thinking that the GLS is the one, but the SRi is more to insure. that makes me think that it is more desirable, but if all that the difference is is the 'colour coded bumpers' as stated by the parker guide, then what the hey? go for the cheaper insurance. but if we're talking power and handling....
then i start thinking CDx or CDi, cos you can get stuff like air con. and leather. nice, but at what cost in performance?
