I may (touchwood) have myself some 45s and bits needed for conversion, I just have a few last minute questions, (which may seem very obvious) for those who've got knowledge of the conversion.
a) So I'll be doing away with AFM which feeds the ECU with data, and also the current coil which is also effected by the ECU. How does this effect things, because I am still gonna need some of the ECUs functions aren't I (Lambda sensor, knock sensor). Won't it throw the ECU into confusion?
b) What happens to the ICV? I can't see how it's gonna plumb into the carb set up at all, if at all.
c) One last thing. I was telling a mechanic mate of mine about the impressive 1/4 mile time I got, and then about converting to carbs. He said I shouldn't risk upsetting the current spec of the engine if I'm doing such good times already on the original injection. He says I should just stick with my injection. I am probably getting a second car (if I can sort out insurance) so I'm not too bothered about fuel consumption or cold starting etc. Basically my question is is the conversion completely reversable i.e. if I'm not happy with the car on carbs, can I switch back to original spec and expect it to perform exactly as it did before, or may I well have upset things by taking everything on and off.
