As I was saying in another thread.
My dad's a mechanic with 30years experience. he doesn't do it full time now but still knows his stuff - kinda like riding a bike. Just don't know if this will be going over his head or not. I don't know what experience he's had with turbo engines in general and I know bugger all about em!!
If I remove my old engine, strip the bay and do what welding is needed courtenay quoted a rough price of £1k to fit and wire up an engine provided by me. That would be with the F20 box tho. The reason why its cheap, before peolpe question etc., is because we do their spray work for them so get discount.
I really would need an indepth guide if we were to do it ourselves. There's no other members in my area who could do it for me either ( I don't think? ).
Andy, I don't suppose you could photocopy them wiring diagrams and post em my way could you? They could be a handy reference point.
What welding would you recommend and where? The shell is a very good solid one on a K reg car. It didn't have any welding done for the current 2ltr conversion but there's no signs of the car pulling apart only where the gearbox mount has cracked slightly.
P.S Thanks for anyones help. Am really unsure bout what to do as the car definately needs a new engine as this one burns oil so do I go all the way?
