Im putting omega 3.0L cams into my cav, can you tell me what else i will need, allso i have been informed that vectra metal rocker gaskets are better?, true or not ?
Timing Belt Kit, you could do the water pump as well. It isn't timing belt driven but its easy to do when the covers are of etc.
Timing belt locking kit, can do it with out one but makes life eaiser.
Inlet manifold gasket (maybe)
The Vectra rocker covers are metal and tend not to leak as often as the plastic ones on the cav, which warp with the heat. If you get Vectra Rocker covers then get vectra rocker cover gasket as they are different to the cav, but will bolt straight on. Be aware if fitting both vectra covers your engine cover hole for the oil will be in the wrong place.
cheers guy's, the timing belt was replaced around 2000 miles ago, im keeping the engine as a cav, just replacing the cams, should i replace the seals around the cam ends?,not sure what there called and should i replace them using cav or vecra ones?
I guess cav and Vectra end seals will be the same.
They are just twin or single contact oil seals. R21 or R23 style. Vauxhall will have them
