I'm now into the final phases of setting up my new business and would like all your comments on the following ideas for products. If you have any "wishlists" you want to add, please feel free to contribute. Most can be added to your car in minutes. I'd also like to know what sort of money you'd be prepared to pay for the particular units.
Thanks for your time
Product 1: Head up display
This would use the reflection of the windscreen to enable you to see the speed of the car (calibratable) and an image of your rev counter (both digital). This would stop you having to take your eyes off the road to see the speed you're travelling at (usefull for speed camera areas)
Product 2: Automatic 0-60 / 0-100 timer
Either integrated into the Digidash (uses the Speed LCD to indicate elapsed time) or can be used with the above or a seperate unit to display timed sprints.
Product 3: In car Volt meter/ Battery Charge meter / Int+Ext Temp
Indicates the above on a backlit 2 line LCD display
Product 4: Digitally controlled Heater Fan speed regulator + Dashboard light dimmer.
Presettable speeds for the fan / dash lighting plus continuously variable speeds - ever wished you had a 2 1/2 speed on that fan switch. Can also be linked to a temperature sender so the hotter the weather, the faster the fan etc.
Product 5: Digital gauges for the Dashboard
Petrol gauge - calibrate to your own car - will give a true readout of actual fuel remaining on digital bars and in digits.
Engine temp gauge - gives a more accurate indication as to the temperature of the engine - both Bars and Digits. Will also incorporate a presettable fan override should you wish the radiator fan to come on at a cooler temperature.
Oil Pressure gauge - indication on both Bar and Digit to the oil pressure.
Digital Speedometer + Odometer - Bars + Digits - will calibrate to any wheel size
Digital Tachometer - Bars + Digits - suitable for 3,4,5 and 6 cylinder engines.
Any of the above can be combined to make your own "digidash"
Project 6: Speed pulse generator using existing dial based speedo
This would be a simple but effective modification to a cable driven speedometer - no more trawling scrapyards to find a sender - will be suitable for both 8v and 16v digidashes
Project 7: Digidash speed calibration device.
Programmable to accomodate different sized wheels / gearbox ratios. This will sit inline with the dash and sender and adjust the pulses up or down depending on what you have set.
Thanks for looking - all comments are welcome.
