Does anyone know how 2 get speedo working
Does anyone know how 2 get speedo working
what box you running?
Original box to engine.
depends what engine you had in before, mine was a 2.2 and the speedo works off the hubs/abs, i put a c20xe into my old mk4 years ago which was a 1.4 16v which had a sensor in the top of the gearbox for the speedo but i cant remember how i got it working now...Doh
i have the same prob, im running a abs sub frame and shafts, & box, but not a abs car loom!. help!
i would imagine you have to run the wire coming from the sensor inn the top of the box into the ecu and then into the clocks? if your box does'nt have a sensor, it will have a bung in there which comes out if you need to fit one.. its just ontop the diff housing

Sorry i dont speak retard. Please at least try to use english next time. I have tried my best to make sense of your post, and by the sounds of it you are using an XE flywheel, XE pressure plate and F23 friction disc?
there are two types of XE flywheel/pressure plate combinations. Flat type and Pot type. the combination you will need to use is = Flat type XE flywheel, Flat type XE pressure plate and F28 friction disc(cav/cali turbo)
is the speedo not working at all? When we first put mine in with brand new 160mph white dials it was out by nearly 20%, we had to get tech2 on it and set the tyre size to get the correct readings.
This is my ride. There are many like it but this one is mine. Without my ride, I am nothing. Without me, my ride is nothing... Hoorah-Ha
anyone got any info to add to this?

there are different f23 gearboxes with different length bellhousings, if you use a vectre c diesel gearbox the bellhousing is longer to accomodate the duel mass flywheel and it will make the clutch release bearing travel further than it can and pop off releasing all the clutch fluid, you must use a none duel mass f23 gearbox
just a few of mine, mk4 camside mount, f23 box from dti 2.0 throttle cable from zafira

I own a Astra 1999 mk4 stationwagon X20XEV with a F23 gearbox. I would like to change the engine to C20XE and use my F23. I know I need to use a C20LET frictiondisc (14 spines). According to different on-line databases my F23 tranny has 14 splines or 23 splines.
How can I find out which tranny I have?
Many thanks
Im doing a c20let into an astra coupe was originally a 2.2 do i need to run standerd coupe ecu aswell as the mk4 one anyone help please
can the pot type f28 flywheel be used with the f23?

Im in the middle of putting a C20NE into my wifes Zafira which was origionally an X18XE1
On the X18XE1 the ecu is mounted on the rear of the engine. There are two plugs attached to the ecu, one is for the engine loom, the other is for the dash. Where do I connect these wires for the dash or do I need to leave them plugged in to the X18XE1 ecu for the clocks to work?
Thanks
when i converted my van to get the speedo working i used a abs sensor from any wheel connect one side to earth and the other to the black and red wire behind the radio that controls the volume when your speed increases this got the speedo working and it was bang on with 16inch wheels. i now have all the gauges working without buying convertors ect if your using you standard ecu for the temp, strip all the engine loom away and just leave the temp gauge and earth the ecu this will allow the fans to kick in on there own and the gauge will work fine.
just been looking at a clutch and flywheel package but it is a flat type flywheel for use with f28, can i use one of these with a f23 gearbox and slave cylinder for a z20let
yes you can, im using a flat type flywheel in an f23 with f23 clutch bearing

so can you use a pot type as well from f28 onto f23. why does it have to be a flat typre as mine seems to fit
