how to find out if a head is coscast

iv got a dilemma i want to now if my head is coscast on my calibra but i dont want to take the head off to find out is there any other way to check if it is or not???
help appreciated

if it says GM on the end its a none coscast IIRC (gearbox end)

If its got a core plug on the side thats the dizzy side its a gm head and not coscast

I have a coscast head with GM written on the dizzy end. The easiest way to tell is if it has a core plug on the dizzy end or not. GM one do.

rite so how far down is it cause were i looked there wernt one got a pic comin in sec

if its got a gm stamp on it and a ridge on the side under the dizzy its costcas plus theres a stamp under the manifold where the head meets the block hard to see but

on ya first pic is that the stamp under the dizzy cos if so that small ridge under the stamp means it coscast hope this helps

look under ur 3rd exhaust outlet, should have a stamp saying cocast mate, my head has no core plug at dizzy side but gm stamped, cheers.
