| fao omex ecu users just purchased an omex 600 series ecu for my let but need to no the procedures to be taken to fit it, aparently it has a base map on but i have been made aware that omex have had issues with this and it may not be the case of having a base map so i would be trailoring it to the rolling road, but.... before it goes i would want to make sure it starts so i didnt waste mine or the tuners time, has anybody in the midlands area used omex and where have they been to have it mapped?
heres a quick pic of my system, will i be needing to add anything else to this, im planning on ditching the afm and running a coilpack instead of distributor, il also be using an apexi avcr to control the boost.
cheers jamie |

1) They don't xome with the base map. you need to speak to Chris at Omex and he will email it to you.
2) I used Noble Motorsport up North. They knew what they were doing and I am happy with what they did.
The base map, is what it is. It only starts the car up. You can not do anything else with it. But if you take it to someone who know what they are doing, then I am sure they can even put a start up map in there.
I have my map that I am more than happy to send you. but it was obviosuly tailored for my LET and your specs may be different. I did also use the coil pack from the XE in my let and ditched the AFM and coil.
PM me if you want any more info. |

| Re: fao omex ecu users yes just a case of mounting coilpack and wiring it in.
map sensor depends on how much boost you want to run,
i would get a 3bar map sensor which will allow you to run 2bar of boost iirc
i could send you my map if you wanted, should get your car running and drivable but wont be safe to put your foot down
street racers in leicester will map it for you if you wanted and he would be willing o give you any help you might need if you give him a call! |

Uses standard GM sensors, usually with a siemens coil (had bad experiences with pattern coils) weber map sensor.

street racers
noble motorsport
and omex themselves
track and road
and then go for a weber map sensor 3 bar??
and a seimans coil (can they be found second hand or buy new from where)
what do i use for a blanking plate where the dizzy was?
i have found out you can ditch the idle control valve but is this really worth it?
and its also fine loosing the air flow meter
i should think its best to use my apexi avcr as a boost controller evan though the omex has a boost controller just so its easily adjusted in car on the apexi instead of getting a laptop in and loading programs etc |

| Re: fao omex ecu users Buy a plate from sbd etc to blank the dizzy hole.
Or just get one off a dispak xe.....
I think the std xe/1.8-2l ecotec coilpacks are 3wire siemens items |
