| Astra 1.7 turbo diesel with little/no boost
A mate of mine recently bought an astra mk4 van - its on a w plate and has one of the izuzu 1.7 turbo diesel engines with about 85k miles on it
however, there is a problem with the turbo as it either wont boost at all or if it does boost the ammount of air the turbo is forcing in is minimal as there is no noticeable change to power. he has tried a couple of things including trying a turbo off another van (he knows this turbo works) and there was still no boost and he has also changed the actuator which also made no difference.
at the minute it does just about 80mph flat out (on a downhill run lol) and he ends up in 3dr going up hills which is starting to get both irritating and dangerous, especially on motorways which most of his journeys are made up from.
anyone have any ideas of what could be causing this?
