| couple of LET questions as myastra LT has been on the road for a week or so now i have noticed a few problems,
1. the engine management light is on when the car is first started then goes out after approx 10 mins of driving (basically when its hot)
2. when i first start car, mainly when its cold in the morning the engine seems to splutter when i pull off but again is fine when it warms up.
3. lastly the oil light keeps flickering on and off, (thinking its the sensor) as im using my old starter loom that was on my old engine and it was fine then or could it be the pump on its way out giving low oil pressure
thats about it, any help would be appreciated
thanks |

| Re: couple of LET questions 1 and 2 could be related to the coolent temp sensor being on its way out, making it overfuel when cold n making it splutter.
3 i had this and it was because the little wire going to the sensor became unplugged, as soon as it was back in was fine |

| Re: couple of LET questions ive changed the coolant temp sensor, even tho both my sensors are giving of normal readings on the multimeter. it still does the same when cold. ive lived with it up until now but it is annoying.
im thinking of changing the air intake temp sensor in the tophat. ive already had my ecu code read twice with no faults comming up.
any other ideas of what else to change? |

That'll save you £50. |

| Re: couple of LET questions yes paperclip test FTW... when buying a new Coolant Temp Sensor make sure you allways get a genuine vauxhall one, last time i bought one it was £9.51 + vat. so about 11quid from vauxhall |

| Re: couple of LET questions Got to agree with Chip here. Reading the codes take a couple of minutes and will give you an idea of the problem. The time it took you to post could have been spent with a paper clip.

Maybe starting your own thread would save future confusion. |
