| any ideas as to power??? hey all, i have jus got a mk2 astra gte runnin a early redtop,
it has a huge induction kit (make unknown, THINK k&n)
wiseco pistons
enlarged throttle body
chipped ecu (make unknown)
huge 8v backbox
will be gettin stuck in tomo so may know what type chip then,
but anyone any ideas of what she should be running?
im thinkin about 170BHP?
also, is the huge induction sapping power? have heard that an original sfi airbox with k&n panel filter is best way to go on these?

standard redtop 153 BHP
i was goin on roughly 10% for chip = 15 BHP
plus induction, t/b , pistons, exhaust...?? |

Maybe the engine is worn. You'll be lucky to see 140

| Re: any ideas as to power??? Aye TB's is probably the best way forward but only on a healthy engine. I'd get it serviced first and chuck a set of ARP big end bolts in there before you get the TB's.

| Re: any ideas as to power??? I have a customer that wants his xe stripped down and rebuilt like new, and when i say like new its a complete strip down, new bolts, cylinders, valves, shells..ect, ect.
Then im making a set of TB's (from scratch with the alloy blocks coming in to mill out) and tailor made to the engine...should take about a month/2 months to do...and the cost is huge but this is what he wants....its not shy of £3k to get the power he wants. |
