Can I remove the crank/alternator pulley without upsetting the timing etc. I basically want to take the pulley off, grind the powersteering v off (on lathe) and then stick pulley back on. The engine is out of the car hanging with gearbox attached.
Is removal same as 8v engines (remove clutch plate cover, ram a screw driver in there to stop crank turning and then undo crank bolt so pulley drops off?
also what are the 6 (i think its that many) allen key nuts that are around the crank nut on the pulley? will I have to undo these?
ps. If some1 could text me the answer that would be great as I am working on car now.
