It was USC at santa pod this weekend.I queued for 2:15 to get the race tickets.The i queued for 45 mins to get on the track.
So I got a reasonable start 1st spinning 2nd spinning then grip all boosting ok.Into third boost hits then nothing eh?Change into 4th Flat as a pancake.Boost gauge read no boost at all.No strange noises.No smoke at all.
Once back to the pits area i could hear a slight rattle.If i put my ear to the cone filter i could hear it much better.It increased with revs but still no boost and no smoke.
The turbo is now been taken off the car(Standard KKK).I took the exhaust elbow off and the impeller seemed OK. Ive taken the inlet elbow off(dump valve housing).The shaft spins turning both impellers.On the inlet a large piece of aluminium was lose.This went around the inlet impeller.Its about 3cm in length.Its a tube with a half moon missing half way down.This fits around the impeller. Although it does seem as if it has been hitting the impeller.This part was completely loose.
Basically guys and girls any ideas on what it could be and cost
Turbo Technics last time said for seals and bearings £200+vat.But I think i need an inlet impeller.Would it cost any more to get 360* bearings as well?
