cam problem

i have a cavalier sri on (n) reg with x20 xev engine the headgasket went and friend offered to repair problem was they totally buggered it and time wrong and bent valves thats not the problem as dad is revalving head its the bits between cams and top of valves the cup shaped things do they go in certain order as he just tipped them out when he did the headgasket im not sure any help would be appriciated thanks

It's a good idea to put them back where they came from, as they wear to each other. But if he's tipped them out then there's not a lot you can do.

will it still run if i put them back in any order as long as valves redone and cams in correctly??

will still run ok but would have been better to have them in sequence, dont worry about
