I have an X14XE engine from a corsa sport in my Nova. I just got the diagonsotics checked and its come up with the following faults:
air control solenoid voltage
fuel tank vent valve voltage
A few months ago I chopped these senosors off because I didn't think they did anything (none on the pipes were connected to them!)
I've still got them so will wire them back in.
Could the air control solenoid also be called a 'secondary air system valve'? and the fuel tank vent valve be called 'emmisions vent'?
I can wire them back in no probs to get rid of the fault code but according to the fitment diagram for my mantzel powerbox the the air valve needs to go to the inlet manifold and to the air injector valve. Where is the air injector valve?
The fuel tank vent valve (actually called emisions vent on diagram) should also be connected to the manifold and then to the charcocal filter. Where is the charcoal filter?
The Carbon Canistor on the Corsa is behind the arch liner at the top of the wing. On the Nova (SRi/late GSi) its at the front of the inner wing. I doubt your gonna be able to plumb this in cos it has pipes back to the fuel tank etc etc.Plus not worth the hassle.
Try taking a trip to the dealer and seeing if they can disable the items using a Tech1/2 device. (btw according to the TIS Service CD the immobiliser on the ECU can be enabled/disabled using Tech1).
