but it doesnt stay on and glow brighter as the revs increase?
You have all the symptons as mine. I thought the ECU had gone at first!
Best check for any broken wires first, and put a meter accross it. I'm 99% sure though you will find its had it though. Mine went with no warning to. Turned the car or, went in for an hour, came out and the dash lit up like a christmas tree!!
Cheapest i could get one for was £80 exchange from wilco. Mine is a turbo, but i bet they use the same one.
I cheched the battary voltage last night, 13v before starting and 16v when started.
I think that the alternator is overcharging because I noticed that the battary cells were bubbling!!!
As the battary is still under guarantee (only 4 months old) I'll get it changed, but I dont want the next one to go the same.
I tried to check the fault codes last night but couldn't get any codes (not even 12)
