Had a spare hour this afternoon so decided to fit a switch for the 4x4 as per the how2 guide, the guide says there are TWO BLACK wires entering the 4x4 ecu and I need to place my switch in the one that the power is interupted by the removal of fuse 2. My 4x4 ecu does not have 2 black wires but only 1, there is a Black/Green and a Black/Yellow.
Help please ?????
Fitted the switch but was kinda expecting the 4x4 dash light to be on when the switch was in the off position, the switch I used is a ETC switch from a V6 cav (mounts perfectly between the seat switches) but doesn't have an on/off position as such so can't tell if the 4x4 is on or not, which isn't a prob I'll rig a LED, but pressing the switch puts the dash light on for a second, switching it again does the same, is that whats supposed to happen or have I fooked up somewhere ?
Confirmation either way would be ace thanks.
As far as I know when you switch the ECU off no lights should appear on the dash (i.e. if you start the car with the switch in the off position no light should be displayed for the 4x4, same if you're driving along - turn it off = nothing displayed on the dash).
When you then turn the 4x4 on again (while driving) the light should light up for a second (to test the bulb I guess) and then go out again (indicating the system is working perfectly).
