Oh no! For the second time in a year, a mate's girlfriends cam belt has snapped. It's a 1.4 spi 'Califonia' Mk3 Astra.
My mate wants to know if there could be any reason for this, i.e. known faults of belts running off the edge and geting chewed. He's sure when he replaced it last time it wasn't too tight and that the idlers were the metal type.
What he'd also like to know is whether the heads on any other of these similar engines will fit on, with a view of getting a head from a scrappy rather than mess about buying and grinding valves again.
