After suffering the wavering idle on the 2.0XE engine, I have become fairly proficient at cleaning the ICV and throttle body.
Everyone says to lube it after as carb cleaner dries it out.
However, I'm wondering if there's something better than WD40 for the job as I suspect the heat dries this off causing the valve to stick , especially lifting off the throttle when you've been giving the car some stick. I've cleaned all the breathers out, throttle body etc, and last time the revs started sticking and coming down slowly everything seemed to be pretty clean.
So I just gave the ICV a quick spray with WD40 and it was fine again.
Anyone know if garages use some "secret, special, much better than WD40 and only known to those in the trade spray" or just plain old WD40 when they do this job?
What do other people use?
