Easy question for you...
The TPS on Motronic 2.8 system has three pins.
How many pins does the TPS on the Motronic 2.7 system have?
What are the visual differences between the two types of TPS appart from the number of pins and the partnumber?
All TPS have 3 pins.
The M2.7 & 2.8 have the same TPS as far as i know. (potentiometer)
The m2.5 just has two switches for idle and fulll throttle.
Thanks for the info.
Is the verison 2.5 TPS physically differnent to the 2.7/2.8?
If so, how?
I think that my local Vauxhall parts dept. have sent me the wrong one because it won't fit on my inlet manifold, so I want some evidence.
the early ones will click if you twiddle em - simply a couple microswitches inside.
failing any clues about how to distingish them visually (i've only ever had the 2.5 switch in my hand), try that.
Sorry I don't know if they look different either.
As said the M2.5 one will click on it's two limits.
or connect a dvm upto the terminals on beep mode.
The m2.5 will either beep 0 or read 1.
A m2.7/8 will read resistance readings.
Okay, thanks for the help guys.
Does this mean i require a m2.7 ?m2.8 1???
Mine doesnt click at all!
Which cars use m2.7 and m2.8???
C20LET's are all 2.7 but as Andy says, a 2.8 should do as its same sensor.
