Originally posted by Garrie Day My old Astra Gsi used a black one, when I renewed it the bloke at the parts counter ordered me a blue one, when I got it on the car it would idle okay but would hesitate and run bad when trying to drive anywhere.
Once I fitted the correct black one, there were no problems at all.
Thanks you very much Garrie
FI the TC first of all closes the throttle butteryfly and if the traction is not re-gained or wheel spining badly it cuts the ignition and injection.
The TPS is again different on the Astra GSi as it contains two sensors. The 2 switches for the M2.5 ECU and a pot for the traction control ECU to see the driver throttle demand.
Mind you, if you have a turbo without working TC then you want to fit a turbo 3 pin one. (pot)
yea but my loom is the 20 xe loom with the mbe ecu its probably only usiing three wires but i cant swap the plug fom a six to a three pin all that easily! So i may as well fit another 6 pin tps unless any 1 has a spare plug 3 pin type????????????????
Its a turbo conversion one of two in the uk using mbe engine management with the original engine converted to low compression with a garett turbo running 19 psi. This means im using original xe wiring loom as well because it is adapted to run with the mbe ecu! The sensors are map sensor oxygen, tps, temperature air, temperature water, crank, and thats it no knock sensor or afm. the same ecu was fitted to the astra rally car around 1995 i belive. i got water in my tps not good!
no its working sweet i rebuilt it about two months ago but ive damaged the tps with the water sitting in there and it has dodgy connections so iwant to replace it. Its only running 15 psi at present cos i havent had chance to get it to tuner to set boost up with proper accurate boost guage! But when u can out accelerate a lotus elise i think its quick enough! lol
Only other slight problem is im getting fluffing occasionally when foot is to the floor and doing high revs im not sure if its the fueling or blowing out the spark or something?
